    ANÁLISE DO AUTOCUIDADO ANTES E APÓS APLICAÇÃO DO INVENTÁRIO PORTAGE EM UMA CRIANÇA COM SÍNDROME DE DOWN

    The study evaluated the development in relation to the self-care of a child with Down Syndrome,aged two years and seven months, attended at one Specialized Rehabilitation Center using theOperational Portage Inventory. After the evaluation, the subject was followed up for threemonths, and after the intervention, performed by the health professional, a second evaluationwas performed. It was analyzed that the child who before the intervention performed only threeof the twelve activities for the age of one to two years and four of twenty-seven activities for theage of two to three years, presented improvements with the physiotherapy, being significant forthe range of one to two years, since he was able to carry out the twelve proposed activities; andnot performing significantly for the age group of two to three years. After analyzing the activitiesthat the child was able to perform, a proposal was made for intervention in the physiotherapyarea for the activities that the child could not perform. This concludes that there are few studiesfound in the literature regarding down syndrome and self-care. And physiotherapy and other health area are based on the acquisition of activities of daily living in children with SD toprovide these children with greater independence during day to day activities. Após a avaliação, foi realizado o acompanhamentodo sujeito durante três meses, e após a intervenção, feita pela profissional da saúde, foi realizado umareavaliação. Foi analisado que, a criança que antes da intervenção realizada apenas três das 12 atividadespara a idade de um a dois anos e quatro das 27 atividades para a idade de dois a três anos, apresentoumelhoras com a fisioterapia, sendo significativo para a faixa de um a dois anos, pois conseguiu realizar as12 atividades propostas; e não tendo um desempenho significativo para a faixa etária de dois a três anos.Após analisar as atividades que a criança conseguiu realizar, foi realizado uma proposta de intervençãona área de fisioterapia para as atividades que a criança não conseguiu efetuar. Com isso conclui-se quesão poucos os estudos encontrados na literatura em relação a Síndrome de Down e ao autocuidado.E a fisioterapia e outras áreas da saúde se fazem fundamental em relação à aquisição de atividades devida diária em crianças com SD, para propiciar a essas crianças maior independência possível duranteatividades do dia a dia.   Recebido em: 18/12/2019Reformulado em: 20/12/10Aceito em: 20/12/1

    Prevalence of Depression, Anxiety, and Stress among High School Students during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Survey Study in Western Mexico

    Social isolation and school closure may predispose adolescents to higher prevalence rates of depression, anxiety, and stress. In this cross-sectional observational study, the validated Spanish version of the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale was administered to 3112 students aged 14–22 years old. We also collected data on participant gender, age group, school shift (morning or afternoon), school year, family type, whether they or any first-degree relative had been infected with COVID-19, whether any family member had died of COVID-19, and whether either of their parents worked. Mean scores were 8.34 ± 6.33 for depression, 7.75 ± 5.89 for anxiety, and 10.26 ± 5.84 for stress. Female students presented significantly higher scores on all three measures compared with male students. Students who had been infected with COVID-19, who had an infected family member, or who had a family member who died of COVID-19 also presented higher scores on all three measures. Identifying the symptoms and warning signs of depression and anxiety disorders is critical, particularly in vulnerable populations like adolescents
